consideran al baile un ejercicio. Sin embargo puede quemar hasta 500 calorías por hora. Y encima es una actividad placentera. Lo que sí, hay que bailar a gran ritmo, con pasión, para que la actividad sea más útil….Baila Salsa, cha cha cha o lo que quieras. La actividad en la que más calorías se queman es correr. Si corres rápido, a unos 16 kilómetros por hora, estarás quemando unas 900 calorías. Bailando, según al ritmo que bailes, estás quemando unas 330. Y caminando unas 250. Todo depende de lo que quieras y del sacrificio que estés dispuesta a hacer. Lo bueno es que si bailar salsa te entusiasma, no te costará ningún esfuerzo. Alguna vez escuché un refrán chino que dice: “si quieres no trabajar, trabaja en lo que te gusta”. Creo que eso es aplicable a cualquier otro ámbito de nuestras vidas. Bailar o realizar ejercicios rítmicos, además de agregarle gracia a nuestros movimientos cotidianos, son buenas actividades físicas para mantener nuestro cuerpo saludable. Diversos estudios han analizado sus efectos positivos sobre: - el sistema respiratorio y cardiovascular - los órganos digestivos - la flexibilidad muscular - la movilidad articulatoria - la agilidad y coordinación física ¿Y como actividad física para ponerse en forma? ¿También sirve para eso bailar? Y… bailar tonifica los músculos y puede llegar a quemar muchas calorías… Estudios científicos realizados en diversas universidades norteamericanas demuestran que algunos bailes, tales como el cha-cha, el polka, la salsa, la samba, el vals vienés y el swing, elevan el ritmo cardíaco promedio lo suficiente como para ejercer el mismo efecto cardio-respiratorio que un condicionamiento aeróbico. "Algunos de los beneficios más fascinantes de las danzas están vinculados con la actividad cerebral" sostiene un grupo de investigadores del departamento de Psicología del Reed College en Oregon, Estados Unidos. Allí realizaron un estudio entre un grupo de alumnos dedicados a clases académicas, deportivas y danza. Existen diversas teorías que buscan explicar las grandes alteraciones de humor que producen las danzas.
